Chloe Francis

Veterinary Physiotherapist
My name is Chloe, and I graduated with my Masters Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy from Writtle University in 2019. I’ve been at Gatehouse for almost 4 years now, and I most enjoy helping pets regain strength and return to normality following surgery. I love to travel, keep fit, and spend time with my horse, Fly.

Kirsty Martin

Head Veterinary Physiotherapist
My name is Kirsty, I first started at Gatehouse as a veterinary physiotherapy student 6 years ago and went on to graduate with a postgraduate diploma from Harper Adams University in 2019. Working alongside the veterinary acupuncturists at Gatehouse has developed my keen interest in pain management and the physiotherapeutic techniques we can use alongside conventional medications to help manage pain in our small animal patients. I find real reward in seeing improvement particularly in the behavioural aspect of pain and enjoy building a bond with each individual patient, especially those with behavioural issues or anxieties. Outside of work I spend time hill walking and paddle boarding with my own rescue border collie, Fiadh, and enjoy travelling.

Caleigh Emms

Veterinary Physiotherapist
Caleigh graduated from Harper Adam’s University in 2020, and moved to Glasgow and started at Gatehouse in 2021. As a student she completed a 6 month placement at a veterinary hospital where she developed a great interest in neurological rehabilitation and osteoarthritis. Since working at Gatehouse continues to love building bonds with all the patients and their owners. Outside of work she plays hockey, loves running and yoga and has a fair few indoor plants!

Eilish Thoumine

Veterinary Physiotherapist
Eilish received a Bsc in Zoology from the University of Derby in 2017 and graduated with a post-graduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy in March 2021. She joined Gatehouse in November that year, having never been to Glasgow before. Eilish enjoys seeing the progress in her patients, not only physically but in their confidence during their sessions. She likes to vary their sessions, working more on functional exercises to help them in their day to day lives. Outside of work Eilish spends her time cross-stitching, watching true-crime documentaries and with her loan pony Henrick.

Rebecca Merser

Veterinary Receptionist
Hi, I’m Rebecca! I love nothing more than a good natter, which works well with my job as Receptionist at Gatehouse Rehabilitation. Chatting to clients is one of my favourite things to do, as well as greeting their fluffy companions. Animals have always been a main interest for me, and still is today, as I carry out my first year of Veterinary Nursing in 2025. I hope in the future to lean towards Exotic pets due to my love for my own tortoise Boris. I can’t wait for all of the chats we will have whilst your loved pets are with us.

Fern Lewis

Veterinary physiotherapy assistant
I qualified as an Animal Nursing Assistant while working at a veterinary practice before joining the Gatehouse team in 2021. I really enjoy getting to meet and make friends with all our wonderful patients. In my spare time I love getting to spoil my own pets and spending time outdoors.

Louise Etherson

Veterinary Physiotherapist
My name is Louise. I graduated with a diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University in 2013 and started at Gatehouse in 2015. Alongside working part-time at Gatehouse, I run a self-employed business as an equine physiotherapist. I find working with small animals allows me to form a stronger bond with each individual patient, which I love. I enjoy working with our more geriatric patients and find it very rewarding to be able to help keep them comfortable and improve their quality of life. Outside of work I'm kept busy with my family, including my little boy and my dog, Alvin. I love horse riding and have a pony on loan called Astro.

Tracey Baxter

Veterinary Receptionist
I am a qualified animal nursing assistant and the practice receptionist. I have been part of the Gatehouse team since April 2017. I love being front of house and saying hello to both familiar and new patients everyday. I have 3 dogs and a marine tank at home as well as enjoying being part of the team who look after the Gatehouse Salt water fish and corals.

Cheryl Corral

Veterinary Surgeon, Practice owner
I qualified from Glasgow Vet School as a veterinary surgeon in 2007 and following this worked in small animal in Glasgow for 7 years. I developed a strong interest in pain management and caring for senior pets, and so undertook training in veterinary acupuncture to increase my skills. My passion for treating patients with mobility issues increased even further - which then led me to study for a post-graduate certificate in rehabilitation through Nottingham Vet School to enhance the care I could provide to the patients I treated. I opened Gatehouse Veterinary Rehabilitation in March 2016, and since then have been leading the team here in delivering the highest standard of care we can to our patients.
